Water:
When visiting in the often hot and humid summertime conditions, plan to stay hydrated (D.C. weather). This is especially important during an extended walking experience in the cemetery. There are very few water fountains within the cemetery grounds beyond the Visitor Center. Currently, bottled water is only available for purchase at the Women's Memorial.

Length of Visit:
Durations vary widely among those who visit, and is dependent upon both sites to be seen and the method of reaching them. Visitors can choose to walk the cemetery grounds, or ride a narrated tram to scheduled stops at the Kennedy gravesite, Memorial Amphitheater, and Arlington House. The tram service is named Tourmobile. Some examples of approximate time required for walking to various destinations are shown below to help you plan.
